Electric plugs aren’t the only way to charge electric cars. In fact, young engineers have come up with wireless charging panels that can provide power to an electric car parked above it. Even if there are nearly six inches of empty space between the charger and the car, power can be transmitted through an electromagnetic field. The implications of such a charger are as huge as suburban driveways, public spaces, parking lots, and interstate rest stops could all be tricked out with wireless ports to serve the tens of millions of electric cars that are expected to hit the roads in the coming two decades.

Danish brewing giant Carlsberg has come up with an innovative replacement for the plastic six-pack rings that holds its beer together. Replacing six-pack rings with this glue will cut down on plastic waste by 76 percent and eliminate 1,200 tons of plastic from entering the environment; that’s the equivalent of 60 million plastic bags. Carlsberg is the first beer company to ditch plastic six-pack rings.
