Today’s Solutions: September 17, 2023

Holidays are a popular time for “clear the shelter” events for local animal shelters. Recently, a Minneapolis animal shelter was overjoyed when over 300 residents showed up and waited in line in 30 degree weather to adopt every last one of the shelter’s pets.

Dozens of cats, dogs, and other small critters found new loving homes thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and waived adoption fees. Volunteers were shocked but pleased at the popularity of the event. It’s very rare for shelters to have room to take in more pets, let alone complete vacancy. The event was so popular that raffles had to be held for some pets due to such high demand.

If you’re in the area and looking for a new pet this holiday season, don’t worry, the shelter is still looking for foster families.
