Today’s Solutions: September 20, 2024

We are in the midst of an energy revolution. Renewable technologies are at the cusp of being a practical solution for base load power, and adoption of clean power is at the highest in human history.
Along with widespread adoption is the growing public understanding that climate change is a fact, and human action must be taken to limit its impact. Not only is alternative energy adoption an environmental concern, but it is quickly becoming a business strategy to save money. Alternative energy sources like wind and solar are becoming cheaper, and easier to install.
In the next week two major public events are taking place:

• The premier of The Future of Energy happens tonight in New York City

• The People’s Climate March, takes place on the streets of New York City on September 21

The Future of Energy is an upbeat documentary about renewable energy adoption in the US. In the documentary filmmakers travel around the US and showcase how net zero—a system that creates as much or more energy than it consumes—targets are being met at every level from entire cities like Lancaster, CA, to energy efficient homes who sell surplus wattage back to the power grid.
The Future of Energy premiers tonight at 6:30 PM EST at the NYC Coalition of Block and Community Leaders & Planetary Advocates on 2 W 64th St NY, NY.
The People’s Climate March takes place on Sunday September 21, 2014 in New York City. The march hopes to raise awareness about climate change and aims to be the largest march on climate change in history.
