Hence the decision by designer Elana Schenkler to open a shop in Pittsburgh dubbed 76<100, which gives women a 24% discount. It enables her to sell artifacts by local artists, while bringing the gender gap pay conversation out in the open and raising awareness. Next, she will take her concept shop to New Orleans where women earn on average 66 cents for each dollar earned by men.
