The impact of ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft in the past five years is showing substantial changes in society. There’s a steady drop in drivers’ licenses for younger age-groups. And next year in Austin, Texas, construction will begin on a 30-storey residential tower that will not offer parking spaces to residents. The Austin innovation doesn’t stand alone as more cities are developing liveable and walkable downtown areas.
