Adidas is setting a good example about what can be done with plastic waste found swirling in the ocean. Along with environmental organization Parley for the Oceans, the company has created running shoes made from the ocean’s recycled plastic that will go on sale within the month. Adidas produced one million pairs of the shoes, eliminating eleven million bottles from the ocean. Meanwhile, Europe’s football giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will take the field in Adidas jersey’s made from Parley’s recycled ocean plastic as the company tries to make recycled plastic fashionable.
