The pressure in the tires of your car has a big impact on safety as well as on fuel efficiency. If tire pressure is too low, cars will slide easier, and their engines consume more gas. Fuel efficiency can be improved up to 7 percent with proper pressure in the tires. That’s why the new smart tire system by tire company Pirelli promises to be such a major improvement. The new tire has sensors that gather data that include miles driven, temperature and pressure (even when the car is stationary) and the amount of wear on the tire. Information is provided for each tire separately, gathered in the Pirelli cloud and then sent to the driver via an app.
