Teachers’ status, pay, and well-being have all dropped, and a record number of them are leaving the classroom globally. That’s why Andria Zafirakou, who recently won an award for World’s Best Teacher, believes that more countries should be like China. In a recent study, it was found that Chinese teachers enjoy the highest levels of public respect. If we treat the profession with more respect worldwide, we will take a big step in solving the global shortage of teachers.
