Today’s Solutions: April 25, 2024

Seeing billionaires give away a big chunk of their wealth to charities is a rare phenomenon, but when it happens it is definitely a heartwarming and hope-giving one.

Enter billionaire co-founder of Home Depot Bernie Marcus, who has recently pledged to give 80 to 90 percent of his estimated $4.5 billion fortune to charity after having already donated nearly two billion dollars to philanthropic organizations across the world.

Bernie and his wife Billi Marcus are signatories of The Giving Pledge, along with 200 others—like Michael Bloomberg, Richard Branson and Elon Musk—a coalition Bill Gates and Warren Buffet designed to recruit wealthy families to pledge at least half their fortunes to charity.

The billionaire has instructed the board of his charitable foundation to donate the money to causes such as medical discoveries and treatments for children with autism and creating 20 to 25 centers across the country to aid veterans suffering from PTSD.
