Today’s Solutions: June 17, 2026

Finnish libraries go above and beyond when it comes to serving the community. They offer not only books for rent, but also sewing machines, board games, musical instruments, and even sports equipment. Now, as the summer season approaches and families get anxious for some outdoor fun, Finnish libraries are renting out BBQ grills.

The new equipment is thanks to Atria, a leading food company in Scandinavia, which donated the grills to libraries so people can still enjoy the summer months while social distancing at home. It also offers a chance for people who would usually use grills in public parks to still enjoy the experience even while facilities are closed.

The grills will be available starting June 8. It may seem like a small gesture, but for families isolating at home, the joy of an outdoor celebration might be just the key to making this strange summer season feel more exciting.
