Today’s Solutions: April 26, 2024

Pennsylvania was one of the tightest electoral races in the 2020 election, but poll workers counting ballots in Pittsburgh got an extra helping hand from their local NFL team: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As the count continued in Allegheny County, the state’s second most populated county, the team showed up to deliver a hearty meal to the dedicated staffers working to account for every last mail-in and absentee ballot. The 65 counters were greeted with chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies, and more.

Although none of the Steelers players made an appearance due to the pandemic, linebacker Vince Williams tweeted support from afar.

In what has been one of the United States’ longest and most unprecedented elections, election workers have been instrumental in ensuring every ballot is counted safely. They certainly deserve a hearty meal and perhaps it even helped them get those results in faster.
