Transitioning to a future where people share driverless cars instead of owning vehicles means that our infrastructure will also be changing. Structures such as gas-stations and public parking garages will be rendered useless, which is why developers and architects are already designing ways of repurposing these kinds of buildings. For example, one architect is exploring ways to convert stand-alone parking-garage structures into apartment buildings that could be used for student or other forms of low-cost housing.
