Researchers have created a game that shows you how to spread fear, anger, and public mistrust through the media. Why? To help players get better at recognizing fake news in real life. The game was created based on previous research that showed exposing people to a small amount of misinformation could help inoculate them against more fake news. The researchers say the same framework featured in this game could be used to expose the techniques used by recruiters for extremist groups.
