Cloud storage centres come with big energy demands due to the massive cooling systems needed to keep them cooled down. Thanks to artificial intelligence, Microsoft’s cloud services are now 93 percent more efficient and up to 98 percent more carbon efficient than traditional enterprise data centres. By guiding the computers in the data centre which virtual server to use at any given point to complete a task, AI allows the cloud to process tasks more efficiently because it’s only using the power it needs to get a job done.
