Around 80 percent of the people in need of legal help for issues like asylum or eviction don’t get it. They don’t have the funds to pay for the services. The American Bar Association advises its 1.3 million lawyers in the U.S. that they do 50 hours of pro-bono work each year. But that advice does not solve the often-substantial logistical challenge. How does a lawyer connect with a family that may be applying for asylum somewhere at the border? That’s the problem that the new platform Paladin aims to fix.
