For more than 50 years, the Sicilian town of Sutera has suffered a gradual loss of its inhabitants and the atmosphere of joy that it once possessed. But the village is catching life once more as migrants and refugees move into empty homes in the town. The arrival of African migrants has also helped revive the local economy and saved a local school with few pupils from closing down as migrant children have enrolled. Now the town has become a model of integration which has been replicated across several Italian cities.
