  • WHY DID YOU BECOME AN OPTIMIST EMISSARY? Finding the Optimist Daily was like finding a new home.  I believe that the only way to create a more perfect world is for people to wake up to the amazing potential that exists in every moment.  The Optimist Daily is a daily reminder to me that there are more solutions in the world than problems and it’s the perfect antidote to the flood of cynicism and fear that dominates in conventional news media.

EMISSARY THOUGHTS

  • What Inspires Your Optimism? I consider myself a “rational optimist”.  I see that there are many challenges in the world but to me, the most rational reaction is not to run away in fear or to pretend there’s nothing wrong, but rather to figure out the most productive and positive response.  I am inspired by other solutions-oriented people, who enjoy a challenge and take the long view. I also appreciate gratitude, kindness, and community, and I feel lucky that I get to experience this every day in my friends and comrades in this interesting journey we call life.
  • Favorite Optimist Daily Solutions? Anything to do with a future that gets rid of fossil fuels, while utilizing the best talents and resources available in both our human and built world.
  • Favorite Optimistic Quote/ Book/ Film: “Dil to Pagle Hai” which is the title of my favorite Bollywood movie, and means “The Heart is Crazy” for the heart has a mind of its own and ought to be honored.
