EMISSARY BIO

  • NAME: Sadie W.
  • FROM: Seattle, WA
  • AGE: 22
  • OCCUPATION / PASSION: Marketing greenhorn, outdoors enthusiast, and free-spirited yogi.
  • WHY DID YOU BECOME AN OPTIMIST EMISSARY? I became an Optimist Emissary when I realized that if I was going to achieve what I wanted to in life, I didn’t have time for pessimism. I refused to let my energies be further drained by doom and gloom. I only wanted to fill my tank. Once I chose the path of an Optimist, my life began to transform before my eyes. I saw the opportunities in challenges. I thought of creative solutions to problems that before seemed insurmountable. I learned that optimism is the only choice if you want to make a positive difference in the world. Over time, I found myself sharing solutions news with my family and friends. Now my father and my grandma are Optimist Emissaries as well.

EMISSARY THOUGHTS

  • Favorite Optimistic Quote/ Book/ Film: “If the world is to be healed through human efforts, I am convinced it will be by ordinary people, people whose love for this life is even greater than their fear. People who can open to the web of life that called us into being.”  – Joanna Macy
