Today’s Solutions: March 18, 2026

If you’re looking for anything from the best local cuisine to a great nail salon, Yelp is the place to go. The popular business rating and review platform is making some changes in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 and will allow users to search specifically for women-owned businesses.

According to Yelp, women-owned businesses have higher average ratings in just about every category. Users have been asking for the ability to search and support female entrepreneurs, and Yelp is answering their calls.

Yelp has already crafted a list of its top 100 women-owned businesses here in the United States. The top three are Esthetic Arts, Alaska Outdoor Gear Outfitter & Rentals (both in Alaska), and Gypsy Rose Dancing in Alabama.

In male-dominated industries, it can be tough for female entrepreneurs to get their foot in the door. This new feature allows consumers to learn more about what local shops and restaurants are women-owned and support these female business leaders.

Check out Yelp’s new feature when you celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 and find a great new female-owned local business to support!
