Today’s Solutions: June 21, 2026

As the world continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, people are coming up with heartwarming ways to help each other.

One woman in the UK, for instance, has come up with a simple way for neighbors to help each other by creating a digital postcard that people can easily print and distribute through their community.

The postcard has blank spaces for people to fill out their contact details and whether they would like to help with shopping, posting mail or simply a phone call. After being posted on Twitter, the card quickly went viral on social media with the hashtag #viralkindness.

Such initiatives of kindness were seen elsewhere as well. People on neighborhood website Nextdoor were also posting offers of help to buy goods or run errands, while the site’s owners have been running sponsored posts encouraging people to help their neighbors.

Grocery chains have also been showing a spirit of kindness. Shops in the United Kingdom and Australia have implemented ‘community hours’ aimed at protecting and providing for the elderly and the disabled by offering them designated shopping hours.
