When it comes to shifting the apparel industry’s polluting practices towards circularity, the onus lies on major brands to lead the green transition. That’s why we’re happy to see Nike put sustainability at the heart of its latest outdoor apparel collection.

About 85 percent of the brand’s latest ACG (All Conditions Gear) collection contains more than 90 percent recycled materials. The essential item of the collection is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable jacket that’s made from 100 percent recycled polyester. And the line’s fleece hoodies are also entirely made of recycled materials.

“Sustainability was our first filter for materials used in this collection, but we didn’t compromise the identity of ACG style and attitude; wearers can continue to be protected from the elements when exploring awe-inspiring nature, or even wear the apparel beyond a weekend in the outdoors,” said Nike Design Director Nur Abbas.

The collection’s focus on sustainable design falls in line with Nike’s Move to Zero initiative, which seeks to power its facilities with 100 percent renewable energy by 2025, and cut carbon emissions across its global supply chain by 30 percent over the next decade.
