Meet the Row-Bot, an ingenious tiny boat that can clean a body of water by eating the bacteria and “digesting” it in its artificial stomach. The mechanism has a remarkable ability to depollute water. What’s even more impressive is the way it powers itself. The Row-Bot gulps in water, consumes the bacteria and uses what’s called a microbial fuel cell to convert the bacteria into electricity. With the energy produced, it makes a few paddle strokes to another area and starts the cleaning process again. Deploy a fleet of Row-Bots into a polluted lake, and they could maneuver around for months chowing down on bacteria and cleaning as they go all on their own.
