Mae Jemison was the first woman of color to go into space. And that was but one of her many feats. What she has discovered and learned over the course of her career with regard to confronting her fears, growing her self-confidence and taking responsibility for creating community, can inspire every single one of us—whether male or female, and regardless of the color of our skin.
