In 2007, Coca-Cola announced a goal of replenishing the water it uses by the year 2020. The company announced recently that it has succeeded meeting that goal, thanks to 248 community water partnerships in 71 countries around the world. An assessment made by The Nature Conservancy found that in 2015, Coca-Cola returned 191.9 billion liters of water to nature or human communities. That’s 115 percent of the water it used in its beverages that year. Environmentalists are pointing out that not each water source is being replenished directly. Coca-Cola acknowledges the fact, and is working on advancing their water programs.
