Every time someone buys a pair of TOMS shoes, the company sends an additional pair to people in developing countries. TOMS is renowned for their buy-one-give-one model, and now a new project will apply that same model to the property market. The project, BuyGiveWork, will give an office space to a non-profit serving a local area or to an early start-up for each business that purchases a space from them. One start-up in London was awarded a free space and has created a vertical growing wall producing fresh lettuces which also provides a privacy screen for workers in the meeting space. Could this idea be more widely adopted by larger corporate organizations?
