Today’s Solutions: July 04, 2026

Forget cars, Dubai is looking up to the sky for new transport solutions. The city already has ambitious plans for a supersonic Hyperloop network, and now they will be testing an autonomous air taxi. Dubbed the Volocopter, this all-electric aircraft looks like a mini-helicopter with 18 rotors that can carry two passengers from point A to point B without a pilot. The Volocopter is powered by swappable batteries, it lifts off and lands vertically, can hover in the air if need be, and packs a couple parachutes in case of emergency. The Volocopter is part of Dubai’s plan to have 25 percent of all passenger travel handled by autonomous vehicles by the year 2030.
