Capitalism and socialism may operate on different terms, but they both rely on exponential GDP growth and ever-increasing levels of production and consumption. In other words, in order for the systems to succeed, they must continue to plunder the earth for resources. The world can no longer handle this, which is why we should stop fixating on the fight between capitalism and socialism, and start focusing on innovating a future economy that transcends old binaries.
