Do you know what supports your rhythm, allowing you to be your healthiest, happiest and most radiant self?

Seasons circle ‘round, and here in the Northern Hemisphere the shift into fall is bringing forth bright festive foliage, the need for warm layers and a shift toward indoor activities. There is a rhythm and flow to life, which constantly transitions from one cycle to the next. The ability to find and live within the right balance for ourselves through these changes enriches all aspects of our lives.

We are creatures of habit, so whether life transitions are anticipated or unexpected, it is important to keep daily rituals. Like the trees that have quickly turned from vibrant greens to dazzling rich reds and golds, we too, find ourselves in periods of change that allow for our growth and renewal. Staying grounded, centered and focused without taking on additional stressors ensures that we’re taking care of ourselves emotionally. Small amounts of exercise can assist the body through the extra adrenaline spikes that can occur. Remembering to take lots of extra deep breathes throughout the day also does wonders.

It’s important to connect with and get support from loved ones, but there’s also nothing wrong with needing time to ourselves as we let go of the old and step into the new. Transitions often require a paring down of extraneous activities, and in stillness we can tune into our internal guidance system. Intuition, and the ability to trust and surrender are amazing allies.

Experiment with tools that assist you with maintaining your rhythm and balance. Find ways to incorporate them into your daily life, regardless of how your life may be shifting and changing from day to day. My toolbox includes journaling, meditating, hiking, dancing and painting. I also incorporate tea rituals, breathwork and as much nature time as the weather will allow. While transitions can be more than a little uncomfortable, they provide opportunities for our growth and can move us toward a life with more heart and soul. Trust that everything works out – it always does – and take extra good care of yourself. Stay in a rhythm that supports your health and harmony. Then, you can move into the next cycle fulfilling your best potential.
