LPK is a Cincinnati based branding company with clients that include Proctor and Gamble, Bayer, and Nestle. Recently LPK went through a large-scale digital detox—for one day more than half the employees turned in their phones and laptops, and went analog. Some might cringe at the very thought, but in many instances, workers were more productive. Meetings were shorter without clunky Power Point presentations, some groups of creative were more focused, and coworkers were more socially engaged. Locking away your phone or computer really isn’t feasible for many of us, but technology breaks are. You’re more creative when your head isn’t buried in a tiny screen. Take technology breaks, and remember what life was like when the Internet wasn’t within arm’s reach.
