While European politicians still struggle with the refugees coming by boat from Africa, and try to find ways to keep them out, more and more citizens are standing up to offer help and support. Manon van Hoeckel, a graduate student at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, has created an In Limbo Embassy. It’s a simple wooden trailer that she purchased and rebuilt herself, designed to offer a space where migrants and refugees can adopt the role of ambassadors to conduct meetings and share their experience with public. This way, she wants to stimulate a debate with migrants rather than about them. Van Hoeckel launched a crowdfunding campaign to help upgrade the trailer so it will travel across the country.
