UK retailer Tesco changed regulations for bean imports from Kenya, which is expected to save over 135 tons of food crops from waste. Growers were previously required to supply beans with a strictly specified size range, and stripped of strings. The company has now eased rules on bean size, as customers turned out to prefer fresher, uncut vegetables over uniformed sizes.
