Shipping containers have become all the hype in the urban farming world. Startups like Cropbox and Freight Farms are enabling cities all over to grow leafy greens, and now French startup Agricool has developed their own shipping container that can grow strawberries. Using hydroponic growing units, Agricool can optimize growing conditions like nutrient levels, irrigation, and CO2 levels. According to Agricool, each container can grow more than 4,000 strawberry plants, which is more than 120 times the amount that could be grown in a field of the same area.
