And as businessmen, they know that market prices fluctuate. Utilities don’t pay the same price for their electricity during the day. That’s why farmers are now making investments in energy storage enabling them to sell to the grid at the moment the prices are best. Here’s an example of a farmer who invested $1 million in a 40-feet container stocked with batteries and has increased the revenue for his solar farm by as much as $250,000 a year.
