Without an official ID, it’s nearly impossible to advance in society. Refugees know this better than anyone else. Getting an official ID is a difficult, lengthy process, but through use of a cryptographic ledger called blockchain, millions of refugees may soon be able to get a secure digital form of identification that can’t be corrupted and is easily accessible from anywhere. See here how the United Nations is planning to use the technology to help refugees who don’t have official documents.
