Today’s Solutions: April 25, 2024

The Optimist Daily reports on the progress of renewable energy on a daily basis. Here’s one more reason why that reporting is so important. Breathing clean air has become the new cool in super-polluted cities such as Shanghai, Beijing or Delhi where hotels and schools for the wealthy offer clean air as a luxury. It’s just another way that the rich can afford to distinguish themselves from the poor, who are forced to constantly choke on sickening, polluted air. In many parts of the world, wealth equals health (or, at least, gives you much more access to it). Prohibitive healthcare costs mean that, if you’re not wealthy, treating your diabetes or cancer may not be an option. Unfortunately, the same is becoming true with pollution. That’s why we need clean energy and that’s why you keep reading about it in The Optimist Daily.
