Kenya is working with global technology from IBM to roll out blockchain technology in order to bring transparency to the country’s businesses operations. Blockchain offers transparency and openness because each party involved in a transaction keeps a record of every change made to the digital database, which makes it nearly impossible to tamper with. With blockchain, businesses and consumers can see where products such as fruits and fish come from by simply scanning the Quick Response code of a product, while also making it possible to uncover whether a product is counterfeit.
