A team of scientists from Istanbul has discovered a new way to produce bioplastic by using the cellulosic agent found in olive seeds. According to researchers, just one kilogram of this bioplastic, which is already being used in electronics and food packaging, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by six kilograms. If implemented on a larger scale, the innovation could significantly help in the fight against plastic pollution.
