Australia has one of the slowest uptakes of electric vehicles in the developed world. In 2016, only 0.1 percent of all new car sales were electric. To motivate Australians to make the switch to electric cars, a Dutchman has driven 89,000 km from Amsterdam to Adelaide in a small electric car to prove that EVs are a viable alternative. By driving such extreme distances, the Dutchman hopes to bust Australian anxieties over the lack of charging stations in the country.
