Today’s Solutions: December 04, 2025

We recently shared a guide to making more eco-conscious clothing choices. Part of this includes buying from brands that value sustainability and durability. One such company making their goods a bit greener is UGG. The popular shoe brand just launched their Plant Power Collection which features vegan shoes made with net-zero emissions.

The line consists of all-gender shoes, and their vegan design uses sustainable materials like renewable sugarcane, hevea rubber, and natural hemp. All carbon emissions that aren’t eliminated with the use of sustainably-sourced materials are offset by the brand with carbon credits and investment in other carbon capture strategies.

According to the company, the new line has reduced 900,000 pounds of CO2, conserved 4.6 million megajoules of energy, and saved 380 million liters of water. This newest collection is in line with other environmental commitments the brand has made including increasing their use of recycled, repurposed, regenerated, renewable, and certified fibers by 35 percent by 2027.

UGG president Andrea O’Donnell said in a statement, “The Plant Power Collection tells a story about what is possible, and it is an exciting step in our journey toward a more sustainable future.” Although this is not the most sustainable shoe option on the market, it is nonetheless exciting to see environmental commitments from such a big player in the fashion industry.
