The latest research into the relationship between our health and the bacteria in our gut, known as the microbiome, revealed that breast cancer is linked to bacterial imbalances. For breast tissue to be healthy, it needs to have more of a ‘good’ bacteria known as Methylobacterium. This suggests that breast cancer could be treated with prebiotics or probiotics if the breast tissue of a patient is found to have bacterial imbalances.
