In a new report, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation exposed the scale of waste within the fashion industry, which creates 1.2bn tons of greenhouse gas emission each year—larger than that of international flights and shipping combined. The fashion industry is incredibly wasteful, but thanks to the MacArthur’s foundation, more and more of fashion’s biggest names are joining together to usher in a circular textile economy. The latest to join forces with MacArthur is one of the UK’s most well-known fashion designers, Stella McCartney. MacArthur has also gained support from fashion giants H&M, Nike, and the C&A Foundation.
