Researchers have discovered that a certain type of onion often used in Iranian cooking could be effective in treating drug-resistant tuberculosis. Although the research is still in its early stages, the researchers believe that the antibacterial properties of Persian shallot could combat this drug-resistant form of TB while also boosting the effects of existing antibiotics.
