Our current educational model isn’t exactly inspiring. Instead of learning tools for life, students often spend time cramming their heads with information needed to pass standardized tests. Tired of this educational model, a duo of social entrepreneurs are creating a non-traditional school near Chennai, India, that was designed to support the goal of cultivating happiness. The design of the school was inspired by a long-running Harvard study that has tracked people over the last 80 years, which found that strong relationships are key to a happy life. Research also points out the format of villages tends to foster strong relationship, so the layout of the campus mimics a village.
