Today’s Solutions: February 23, 2026

Being homeless is a vicious cycle, especially when you live on the streets of some of the most expensive cities in the world. Once you’ve lost your home and a stable income, the opportunities to find employment, let alone a place to sleep, can be scarce, making it more than likely that you will remain without a home. To help the homeless in London get back on their feet, a popular sandwich chain is taking matters into their own hands by launching a hostel where people affected by homelessness can live. Residents of the hostel will not only be able to work at the sandwich chain, but they will also have access to job training—including financial, literacy, and computer skills. The initiative is a “first for the food industry in the UK,” and something companies should take note of if they want to make a real impact in the world.
