Last Friday, the biggest climate protest the world has ever seen took place in 128 countries around the world. Just how big was the protest? According to environmental campaigners, the climate strike attracted more than 1.4 million young people around the world. With that many young people taking to the streets to urge politicians to act on climate change, it’s no wonder that 16-year-old Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. After all, it was her solo protest that served as the catalyst for this massive movement. Considering the sheer size and enthusiasm of this youth climate movement, perhaps it’s time we start listening to the young generation when it comes to building a sustainable future.
