Today’s Solutions: April 20, 2026

This week we’re talking a lot about food, and for good reason: an overwhelming number of health conditions these days are linked to poor diets that lack diversity and good nutrition. One of the main things that people are missing in the fiber, which is the closest thing we have to a true superfood.

Eating a fiber-rich diet is associated with better gastrointestinal health and a reduced risk of heart attacks, strokes, high cholesterol, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and even some cancers. That’s because fiber is amazingly helpful in many ways: It lowers cholesterol and inflammation, feeds our microbiome, and slows the body’s absorption of glucose, which evens out our blood sugar levels.

So how can we eat more? You may not be aware of it, but many delicious foods such as sweet potatoes, avocados, and even popcorn have fiber in it. If you’re looking to add more fiber to your diet, check out this visual guide that tells you what the most fibrous foods are and how much fiber they withhold.
