Today’s Solutions: March 27, 2026

While there are plenty of reasons not to love energy giant Shell, they are taking major steps towards implementing more renewable energy. An example of which takes place in the UK where more than 700,000 homes in Britain are now enjoying 100 percent renewable energy thanks to Shell.

The move comes after the Anglo-Dutch oil giant has purchased the utility last year and has now renamed it Shell Energy, changing its business trajectory towards a more sustainable direction. All of the utility’s energy supply will come from renewable sources such as wind, solar, and biofuels. Shell also plans to invest $1-$2 billion per year, around 5 percent of its total spending, on renewables and low-carbon businesses as it bets on a rapid growth in demand as the world battles climate change.
