Today’s Solutions: April 20, 2026

Seventh Generation, a major company that specializes in cleaning and personal care products, is donating all of its national TV ad airtime for a whole week leading up to the Global Climate Strike.

If you aren’t already aware of the global Climate Strike, it’s an event happening on September 20 in which millions of people may walk out of work and school to demand climate action. That means for a whole week leading up to the event, the Global Climate Strike will have a bit of access to national TV in order to spread the news.

Seventh Generation’s donation is a rather generous and respectable one, considering their national ad air time is worth at least six-figures. Then again, Seventh Generation has long been known for its environmental work.  Reformulating their products to make them more earth-friendly is one way they are trying to reduce their impact, but the company is also making a statement by closing on the day of the strike—giving employees in 30 countries the day off to participate. The company is also urging other companies to shut down for the day and take the step to donate airtime.
