Today’s Solutions: May 08, 2026

Last week we shared a story about revolutionizing the sharing economy transportation in Pittsburgh. This week, the discussion around optimizing transportation goes national, as Congress attempts to pass the bipartisan bill, America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act, and house Democrats launch their new Future of Transportation Caucus.

The caucus is spearheaded by representatives of major cities, including Boston and Chicago, and aims to improve transportation access, sustainability, and equity. Representative Jesús García from Chicago says transportation infrastructure needs to focus on policy, rather than funding. The caucus formed as a response to concerns with the Infrastructure Act, which does not include provisions for emissions regulation or pedestrian safety. The caucus wants to turn the tide on transportation discussions to focus on emissions reductions, safety, and access to jobs.
