Today’s Solutions: December 17, 2025

While the urgency to tackle climate change is heavily ignored by the current federal government, some state officials in the US are not hesitant to step up their efforts in preventing a looming environmental catastrophe.

The latest of such commitments come from the Democratic governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, who has recently launched a task force to brainstorm ways to cut pollution. The task force is expected to come up with recommendations to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change in less than a year. These will require transformative changes to the state’s electrical, transportation, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

Evers is one of two dozen governors in the Climate Alliance, whose members have pledged to reduce their states’ heat-trapping pollution at least 26 percent below 2005 levels by 2025.
